To The Light
'To the light' - a game by Denis Kotenko and Pavel Sergaziev, created in Unity for the Brackeys Game Jam (August 2018).
You're a little hungry caterpillar. Find and eat leaves. Eat enough, and you will evolve. After that - go find the light!
Yea, and try not to die. A free tip: be careful, go slow, and you will win. Probably ;)
Update 09.09.2018 - Added a WebGL version. Apparently there is something wrong with my Chrome browser - it darkens media played in it. If after the evolution it gets so dark the colors seem a bit inverted, try some other browser. Firefox works fine for me.

Cool game. The artstyle reminds me a bit of terraria and that is something that I liked. The game was a bit hard but I think that because it felt like you have to retry some parts if you were unlucky. But I personally don't think it was too hard at all but some might think that way. The creepy bushmonster for example was impossible to escape from if he had you in a corner and you don't really know which way is the correct so you might want to change the level a bit so even if you choose the wrong direction you have a chance to dodge the bushmonster. In one area he kinda covered the only exit which made it very hard to escape. But yeah like I said before I am okay with the difficulty but others might not be. If you want to expand on the game you should have multiple levels or alteast checkpoint and make each level/checkpoint harder.
Besides the art I also liked the music. I have realised that music does a lot of for games and it is sad that we did not have time to implement it in our own game.
Overall good game!
Thank you very much for the feedback!! We made it with no checkpoints just because the game is too short - if you don't have to start over, if you don't have to remember (at least a little) the level layout, it gets too easy. Yes, the flies and the bushmonster may be scary, but they are slower than you. The one covering the exit closer to the end - you're supposed to lure it out, lead it to a more open space and then just fly around it. But you actually can fly around it without waking him. But if you are lost and don't know where to go, it's much more difficult. The issue with not knowing which way to go - yea, I should've put something there to indicate the correct path... I tried to do it with green bushes, but it doesn't seem to work - should've done something with light rays I think. --Pavel
Can you make a mac version of the game?
I probably could, but I'd have absolutely no way of testing it, sorry )) I'll try to make a WebGL version. - Pavel
Okay. I could test it if you needed a tester.
Hey, WebGL version is up. It should work on a Mac.
Nice, Very nice. I had a play and finally made it to the light. Good design, audio is good and the level design is great.

Thank you very much! For me it's the first game I've done to the end ^_^ - Pavel
